Last Year: The Cardinals made it to the District 1-5A Semifinals, falling to Springfield Delco to close out 8-4. The Eagles finished 4-7 a year ago.
Players to Watch: Lucas Roselli gives the Cardinals a dependable back to go to in the opener. Larry Hill roams the secondary for the Eagles.
Prediction: Upper Dublin 35, Norristown 14.

METHACTON AT TRUMAN
Time/Place: Friday, 7 p.m., at Truman.
Records: Methacton is 0-0 overall and 0-0 in the Pioneer Athletic Conference Division 1. Truman is 0-0 overall and 0-0 in the SOL National.
Last Year: Methacton struggled to an 0-10 finish. The Tigers reached the District 1-6A Playoffs, falling to Coatesville in the first round to finish 7-4.
Last Meeting: The Tigers rolled past the Warriors, 48-0.
Players to Watch: The Warriors have a top-flight receiver in Will Roese, a versatile threat. The Tigers counter with a confident senior quarterback in Dylan Snelling.
Prediction: Truman 34, Methacton 21.

KUTZTOWN AT POPE JOHN PAUL II
Time/Place: Friday, 7 p.m., at Conshohocken A Field.
Records: Kutztown is 0-0 overall and 0-0 in the Berks Inter-County Conference, Section 2. Pope John Paul II is 0-0 overall and 0-0 in the PAC Division II.
Last Year: Kutztown finished 0-10 in 2017. PJP reached the District 1-4A Playoffs, losing to Upper Perkiomen in the first round to close out 7-4.
Players to Watch: Tyler Fisher is a tough, two-way player for Kutztown at wide receiver and outside linebacker. Bryan Bendig anchors things up front for the Golden Panthers and could be opening up some holes.
Prediction: Pope John Paul II 27, Kutztown 14.

SPRING-FORD AT CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH
Time/Place: Friday, 7 p.m., at Central Bucks South.
Records: Spring-Ford is 0-0 overall and 0-0 in the PAC Division 1. Central Bucks South is 0-0 overall and 0-0 in the SOL Continental.
Last Year: Spring-Ford made it to the District 1-6A Playoffs, losing to Neshaminy to finish 6-5. The Titans also reached 6A districts, falling to Pennsbury to close out 7-4.
Players to Watch: Nick DelRomano stars at linebacker for the Rams while the Titans have an outstanding linebacking group of their own, led by Matt Norris.
Prediction: Central Bucks South 17, Spring-Ford 7.

UPPER MERION AT RADNOR
Time/Place: Friday, 7 p.m., at Radnor.
Records: Upper Merion is 0-0 overall and 0-0 in the PAC Division II. Radnor is 0-0 overall and 0-0 in the Central League.
Last Year: The Vikings had a 1-10 finish a year ago. The Raiders made it to .500, going 6-6.
Last Meeting: Radnor won 52-22 over Upper Merion.
Players to Watch: Zaire Savage could be a big-play guy at wide receiver for the Vikings. Teddy Girton is the backbone of the secondary for Radnor.
Prediction: Radnor 15, Upper Merion 14.

IMHOTEP CHARTER AT La SALLE
Time/Place: Friday, 7 p.m., at Upper Dublin.

Last Year: Imhotep had a 12-2 season that culminated with a trip to the PIAA-4A State Final, where the Panthers lost to Cathedral Prep. La Salle was 6-4 a year ago, reaching the District 12-6A Semifinals and falling to rival St. Joe’s.
Players to Watch: Tykee Smith is an explosive runnr, receiver and free safety for Imhotep. Jack Machita takes over at QB for the Explorers.
Prediction: Imhotep 21, La Salle 14.

McDONOGH SCHOOL (Md.) at ARCHBISHOP WOOD
Time/Place: Friday, 7 p.m., at William Tennent.
Records: McDonogh School is 0-0 overall and 0-0 in the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference. Archbishop Wood is 0-0 overall and 0-0 in the PCL Red Division.
Last Year: McDonogh finished 6-5 a year ago while Wood romped to the PIAA-5A State Title.
Players to Watch: Jabriel Johnson is a tough senior runner for the Eagles. The Vikings have an experienced guy under center in Jack Colyar.
Prediction: Archbishop Wood 28, McDonogh School 18.

MARTIN LUTHER KING AT WISSAHICKON
Time/Place: Friday, 7 p.m., at Wissahickon.
Records: Martin Luther King is 0-0 overall and 0-0 in the Philadelphia Public League, 4A Division. Wissahickon is 0-0 overall and 0-0 in the SOL American.
Last Year: MLK finished 6-5 a year ago while the Trojans were 2-7.
Last Meeting: The Trojans were on the winning end of a 20-10 decision over MLK.
Players to Watch: Look for Al-Ma’hi Ali to show some flash at the running back spot for the Golden Cougars. Wiss has a solid defensive end in Tyler Caso.
Prediction: Wissahickon 20, MLK 14.

DELAWARE VALLEY AT PENNRIDGE

Players to Watch: Zach Scillia has some speed in the secondary for the Warriors. Chris Feralio shines at linebacker for the Rams.

PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH AT DOWNINGTOWN EAST

Last Year: PW struggled to a 1-8 finish. The Cougars made it to the District 1-6A Quarterfinals.
Last Meeting: East rolled, 47-6, over the Colonials.
Players to Watch: Luke Davis could be an elite signal caller for the Cougars. PW tries to get off on the right foot behind the running of Brian Dresnin.
Prediction: Downingtown East 22, Plymouth Whitemarsh 14.

HATBORO-HORSHAM AT CENTRAL BUCKS WEST
Time/Place: Friday, 7 p.m., at War Memorial Field, Central Bucks West.
Records: Hatboro-Horsham is 0-0 overall and 0-0 in the SOL American. Central Bucks West is 0-0 overall and 0-0 in the SOL Continental.
Last Year: The Hatters were a 6-4 team a year ago while the Bucks made into the District 1-6A Tournament, falling in the opening round to Garnet Valley.
Last Meeting: The Bucks prevailed, 21-13, over the Hatters.
Players to Watch: Jake Schalki is a key piece to the Hatboro defensive line. The Bucks like the play of tight end Luke Benson.
Prediction: Central Bucks West 17, Hatboro-Horsham 14.

SOUDERTON AT PENN WOOD
Time/Place: Friday, 7 p.m., at Kerr Field, Yeadon.
Records: Souderton is 0-0 overall and 0-0 in the SOL Continental. Penn Wood is 0-0 overall and 0-0 in the Delaware Valley League.
Last Year: Big Red had a 3-7 finish a year ago. Penn Wood reached the first round of the District 1-6A Playoffs, falling to Perk Valley.
Last Meeting: Big Red won 37-14 over the Pats.
Players to Watch: Kennedy Poles is a prolific receiver for Penn Wood. Souderton has Andrew Vince to bolster the secondary.
Prediction: Penn Wood 24, Souderton 17.

Players to Watch: North Penn senior Shamar Edwards should be a factor in the Knights’ rushing and passing game. Edwards. Neshaminy returns junior quarterback Brody McAndrew.
