Boys Swimming: Boeckx breaks record, wins four events for Ridley

Ridley’s Alex Boeckx broke the Penncrest pool record in the 100 butterfly while taking home three other victories to propel Ridley over Penncrest, 96-88 in a Central League meet. Boeckx set the record with a time of 53.03, also picking up wins in the 200 medley relay, free relay and 100 breast.

Zach Anderson was a triple winner in taking the 100 back and 200 medley relay and free relay, while teammates Chad Wadsworth (200 medley relay, 500 free) and Ryan Schreiber (200 medley relay and free relay) were each double winners.

The Lions were led by Justin Haffner, who won the 200 IM, 100 free and 400 free relay, and Tom McLaughlin, who claimed the 200 free and 400 free relay.

Also in the Central League:

Springfield 99, Marple Newtown 86 >> The Tigers had three quadruple winners in the losing effort: Mike Hannig (200 medley relay, 200 free, 200 free relay, 100 back), Matt Gray (200 medley relay, 200 IM, 200 free relay, 100 breast) and Tyler Smith (200 medley relay, 50 and 100 free, 200 free relay).

Matt Seifried won the 500 free and 400 free relay to pace the Cougars.

Haverford 106, Upper Darby 73 >> Zach Given was the catalyst, winning the 200 medley relay, 100 free and 200 free relay. Four Fords were double winners: Leo Goldszal (200 medley relay, 100 fly); Matthew Shaw (200 IM, 400 free); Collin Pettit (50 free, 200 free relay); and David Abrahams (200 medley relay, 100 back).

The Royals were led by Jake Muldoon, who claimed the 100 breast.

In the Ches-Mont:

Bishop Shanahan 96, Sun Valley 89 >> Grant Michaels led the way winning the 200 medley relay and 50 free, and teammate David Kearney took top honors in diving with a 175.90 for the Vanguards.
