Mercury Girls Basketball Roundup: Rantz, Cahill lead Owen J. Roberts past Norristown

Owen J. Roberts 55, Norristown 37 >> Diana Rantz and Kylie Cahill came close to equalling the Eagles’ entire offensive output as they led the Wildcats to victory in this PAC Liberty Division pairing.

Rantz was the game’s scoring leader with 18 points, one more than Cahill. Olivia LeClaire gave Owen J. another double-figure performer, netting 10 points.

Spring-Ford 62, Methacton 41 >> Abby Goodrich headed a trio of double-figure scorers that led the Rams to victory over the Warriors in PAC Liberty Division action.

Goodrich hit for a game-high 16 points, followed by Rachel Christman with 11 and Lucy Olsen with 10. Nicole Cooper, Sydney Tornetta and Olivia Pennypacker each had eight to lead Methacton (1-1, 2-4), which fell behind Spring-Ford (1-0, 3-0) by a 49-33 count through three quarters.

Pottsgrove 46, Pottstown 24 >> Ebony Reddick secured game scoring honors for the Trojans, but they were unable to counter the Falcons’ late scoring surge in this PAC Frontier Division contest.

Reddick came away with 13 points for Pottstown, which was outscored by a 24-2 count in the second half. Sierra Potts’ 10-point effort complemented Pottsgrove’s big late-game defense.


Pope John Paul II 36, Phoenixville 30 >> The Golden Panthers’ scoring balance offset the double-figure production of the Phantoms’ Ameerah Green and Jasmine Hamilton to win this PAC Frontier Division game.

Kayla Mesaros (nine points), Elise Sylvester and Lauren Ciuba (eight points apiece) helped PJP open a 29-14 first-half lead that held up even as Phoenixville won the stretch run, 16-7.
