Mercury Boys Basketball Roundup: Upper Perk’s Kendra scores 1,000th point in win

Upper Perkiomen 65, Brandywine Heights 60 >> The Tribe beat Brandywine Heights in non-conference action.

Ryan Kendra finished with 18 points, including his 1,000th career point on a 3-pointer during the second quarter. Liam Boyle led the way with 24 points.

Pope John Paul II 64, Lansdale Catholic 54 >> Aidan McCarthy ran away with game-scoring honors as he led the Golden Panthers past the Crusaders in their non-league game.

McCarthy torched the nets for 30 points, half of them off 5-for-5 accuracy from 3-point range. He also went 7-for-8 at the line to help PJP expand a narrow 13-12 first-quarter lead to 34-25 at the half.

Dan Cirino and Ricky Bearden each kicked in another nine points, Cirino going 7-for-10 from the line.
