Brugler, Nazareth win Haverford Hall tourney

Tayla Brugler earned Most Valuable Player honors, and teammate Madison Amy earned also earned a spot on the all-tournament team as Nazareth Area topped host Haverford High, 43-31, to win the Haverford Hall of Fame Tournament Sunday.

Nazareth reached the final with a 32-20 victory over Monsignor Bonner & Archbishop Prendergast in Friday night’s opening round. The Fords advanced with a 41-30 victory over Merion Mercy.

Bonner & Prendie bounced back from the loss to Nazareth with a 54-28 triumph over Merion Mercy in the third-place game.

Erin Doherty of Haverford, Dakota McCaughan from Bonner & Prendie and Merion Mercy’s Lauren Andrusko also were named to the all-tournament team.
