North Penn scored twice in the top of the seventh inning to break a 1-1 tie and beat host Pennridge 3-1, the win securing the Knights the outright Suburban One League Continental Conference title Tuesday afternoon at Kulp Playground.
Matt Stevenson allowed four hits and struck out four in a complete-game victory for North Penn (16-3, 9-3 conference), which earned its third outright Continental crown in four seasons.
Tyler Siddal scored two runs for the Knights, who host Hatboro-Horsham – which clinch the SOL American title Tuesday – in a non-conference contest 7:30 p.m. Friday at Hostelley Field.
Oliver Jervis drove in the lone run for Pennridge (6-13, 4-8) in the bottom of the first with his RBI ground out. Pennridge hosts Quakertown 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Souderton 10, William Tennent 2 >> Luke Barnum and Brett Moyer both hit home runs in the fourth inning – Barnum belting a three-run blast, Moyer connecting for a solo shot – as Souderton won its regular-season finale.
Thylar Summarell hit a solo home run in the third for the Indians (13-7, 8-4 SOL Continental) while Jordan Morales finished with three RBIs, the first two on a double in the second that put Souderton up for good.
William Tennent (7-11, 5-7) plated both of its runs in the top of the first.
Upper Dublin 4, Upper Moreland 3 (8) >> Max Weinberg had two RBIs as Upper Dublin ended a four-game losing streak with an eight-inning SOL American win over host Upper Moreland.
Upper Dublin (6-13, 4-10 conference) took a 4-3 lead in the top of the seventh but the Golden Bears (12-6, 9-5) answered with a run in the bottom of the frame to force extra innings.
Justin Horn and JT Breslin both had two hits for the Cardinals. Matt Wister had a pair of hits for UM.
