Radnor bows out of district team tournament

Radnor triumphed in second doubles, but it was too little, too late as they were ousted by Downingtown East, 4-1, Thursday in the District 1 AAA boys’ tennis team championships.
Luigi Giacomucci and Ethan Lee defeated Kevin Ly and Justin Song, 6-3, 6-1 for the Raiders.
In Inter-Ac League action:
Haverford School 4, Episcopal Academy 3 >> John Walsh, Will McDevitt and Connor Lees won in straight sets in singles, and Cole Wolf and Sunny Yu prevailed in three sets to lead the Fords to victory.
In nonleague action:
Ridley 4, Academy Park 1 >> Steve Scheizly and Alex Joyce won in singles to lead the Green Raiders. Also prevailing for Ridley were the doubles teams of Dom Heideman and Mo Soliman, and Dave Hill and Amin Belgaiz.
Abdulai Gassama triumphed at third singles for Academy Park (7-9).
Haverford High 7, Roman Catholic 0 >> The Fords rolled to complete the season with a 7-9 mark, Seniors Jack McGovern, Andrew Field and Jack Simpson all triumphed to go out on a high note. Third doubles team Sammy Ortiz and Scott Kaplan won six straight matches to close the season.
