Casasanto pitches and hits Springfield to another victory

 Jenna Casasanto tossed a complete game with five punchouts and helped her cause with three hits in leading Springfield to a 4-2 win over Garnet Valley in a Central League contest Friday.

Ashley Scarpato had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs, while Sheridan Hedrick singled home two runs for Cougars (6-4, 6-4).

Elsewhere in the Central League:

Radnor 7, Conestoga 5 >> Brooke Nicander earned the win and slugged a two-run double as well as a two-run single for the Raiders (5-6, 4-5). Quinn Tobias added a single, an RBI and two runs scored.

Ridley 6, Strath Haven 4 >> All-Delco Leigh Ann Jenkins struck out 10 and received offensive support from Heather Bogardus (two hits) and Anna Torrens (triple). Sophie Bollinger legged out a pair of triple for Haven.

Harriton 15, Lower Merion 6 >> Anneke Bonk, Anna Walsh and Kylie Marsh all contributed three hits for the Rams.

In the Bicentennial League:

Delco Christian 15, Plumstead Christian 0 >> Ronnie Falasco launched two homers and drove in seven runs to lead the Knights on senior day. Her second dinger was a walk-off grand slam. Dani Stafford pitched a three-inning no-hitter with five Ks.

In the Del Val League:

Chichester 13, Penn Wood 2 >> Nicole O’Donnell and Makayla Donovan each finished 2-for-3 for the Eagles, who scored 11 runs in the fourth. Ameenah Ballenger went 2-for-2 with a walk and an RBI for Penn Wood.

In the Ches-Mont League:

Sun Valley 9, Octorara 1 >> Winning pitcher Maddy Gutowiecz went 4-for-5 with a double, triple and two runs. All-Delco Kenzie Lewis had three hits and Cassie Bridwell smashed a bases-clearing double.

In nonleague action:

Episcopal Academy 10, Marple Newtown 6 >> Maddie Loughead went 3-for-3 with a double and Ariana Feliziani finished 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs for EA. Grace Thorne had a double and four RBIs for Marple.
