Conor Larkin no-hits Upper Merion in Spring-Ford’s 10-0 win

Spring-Ford starting pitcher Conor Larkin dealt a no-hitter in Wednesday night’s 10-0 six-inning win over visiting Upper Merion in Pioneer Athletic Conference action.

The Penn State University commit struck out 11 batters and gave way to just one walk across six full innings of work. He threw 52 of his 78 pitches for strikes.

Spring-Ford (5-3 PAC, 7-4 overall) had lost four straight and was in need of a spark entering Wednesday.

The Rams crossed a pair of runs in the first then added solo tallies in the second and fourth before blowing it open with a five-run fifth inning. Jake Kelchner hit 4-for-4  with three RBIs out of the leadoff spot while Ethan Hellberg had a triple, three RBIs and a run scored. Nick Brauer finished with a hit, a run scored and an RBI in the win.

Upper Merion starter Ryan Foster gave way to six runs (five earned) across four innings of work. He scattered six hits and three walks while striking out four.

Pope John Paul II 5, Owen J. Roberts 4 >> The Golden Panthers kept their unbeaten start intact with a PAC win over the Wildcats.

Colt Narciso delivered a two-out double to score Dan Cirino and break open a 4-4 tie in the bottom of the sixth inning for the game-winning run. Cirino finished 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored while Ryan Lynn knocked a pair of RBIs. Matt Brunetti picked up the win in relief, holding OJR to just one hit over the final two innings. Andy Blum had two hits in the loss.

Methacton 9, Upper Perkiomen 0 >> The Warriors crossed four runs in the first inning en route to a win over the Tribe in PAC play.

Patrick O’Neill finished 2-for-3 with a double, a pair of RBIs and a run scored while Nick Wheeler had a double, two RBIs and a run scored. Ben Christian picked up the win, giving way to only three hits across five innings of work. He struck out seven.

Boyertown 11, Pottstown 3 >> The Bears put together a five-run fifth inning to overcome the Trojans in PAC play.

Tyler Kreitz and Mitchell Peers finished with two hits apiece while Jake DiCesare had a double and four RBIs. Anthony Rota knocked an RBI triple. Noah Kurtz earned the win, giving way to four hits and an unearned run across four innings of work. He struck out two. Brandon Gebhard finished 3-for-3 with a run scored while Josh Gery had two hits for Pottstown.

Perkiomen Valley 8, Pottsgrove 1 >> Despite getting just five hits, the Vikings crossed three runs in both the third and fifth innings on their way to a PAC win over the Falcons.

Mark Ott was 2-for-3 with a double to go along with a pair of runs scored and two RBIs while Tyler Strechay had an RBI double and a run scored. Mike Gama picked up the win for PV, delivering five innings of one-run ball before Jamie Glass went the final two frames. Nick DeCurtis had a pair of hits for Pottsgrove.
