Bishop powers Chester to victory

Braheem Bishop was a man on a mission for Chester.

Bishop won the 100-meter dash in 11.1 seconds and claimed the 200 in 23.0 to help the Clippers to wins of 84-48 and 102-25 over Chichester and Academy Park, respectively. The Eagles rolled over the Knights, 104-27, at the Del Val tri-meet.

Bishop and his teammates won the 4 x 100 with a time of 44.5. Chichester’s Brion McNear claimed the 400 in a time of 41.25, while Corey Simmons bested the field in the shot put with a heave of 37 feet, 10 inches.

In the Central League:

Radnor rolls to three easy wins >> Peter Cooke was the star of the show in Radnor’s quad meet sweep, claiming wins in the 300 hurdles and 800 and also anchoring the 4 x 800 and 4 x 400 relays as the Raiders beat Ridley (92-58), Springfield (116-34) and Conestoga (119-31). Ridley downed the Pioneers (113-36) and Springfield (107-42), while Conestoga handled the Panthers (66-55).

Alex Escobar played a mean second fiddle to Cooke with wins in the 100 and long jump, while Ridley’s Zack Forney paced the Green Raiders with triumphs in the 1,600 and 3,200.

In the Inter-Ac League:

Haverford School 71, Episcopal Academy 51 >> Elias Lindgren won the 1,600, Jermaine Rhoden was tops in the high jump and Sam Stickley claimed the pole vault for the Churchmen.
