Lindsay’s slam leads Spring-Ford past Perk Valley in PAC title rematch

Spring-Ford’s Sam Lindsay got it done in the circle and at the dish to lead the Rams past Perkiomen Valley in a rematch of last year’s Pioneer Athletic Conference final, 5-1 in eight innings.

Tied at 1 entering the top half of the eighth, the sophomore belted a grand slam home run to cap off the Rams comeback after they trailed 1-0 entering the seventh inning. Lindsay complemented her big swing with a shutdown effort in the circle, allowing only one hit and one run (zero earned) while striking out two.

Her effort outshined the one of Perkiomen Valley’s Abby Wild, who had allowed just one hit entering the seventh inning. The Rams tied the game after getting their first two runners and then struck for the big eighth inning after the first three Rams reached via two walks and a throwing error to set up Lindsay.

Lindsay finished with two hits in the win. Taylor Hamm had the only hit for PV.
