Jenna Casasanto had Marple Newtown connecting with nothing but air all day.
Casasanto struck out a career-best 14 batters and only yielded one hit to go with no walks en route to a 3-0 whitewashing of the Tigers.
Nikki DiPietro doubled twice and drove in a run for the Cougars (3-2), who won their second straight game.

Haverford 3, Garnet Valley 2 >> Amber Moscoe, Heather Lazer and Lindsay Moran all drove in runs and Gabrielle Gentile went the distance as the Fords (4-0, 4-0) nipped the Jaguars to stay perfect.
Ridley 9, Upper Darby 6 >> Leigh Ann Jenkins put in the work both in the circle and at the plate, slugging a three-run home run and fanning 11 batters to fuel the Green Raiders’ win.
Ashley Shanks cranked a home run as part of a four-RBI day.
In the Catholic League:
Bonner & Prendergast 1, Archbishop Carroll 0 >> Allison Martin’s bases-loaded infield hit drove in Molly McNulty for the game’s lone run, and McNulty shut the door on the Patriots with a seven-strikeout complete game.
Mary Claire Boylan was strong in the circle for the Patriots, going the distance while scattering six hits.
In the Inter-Ac League:
Episcopal Academy 4, Notre Dame 2 >> Riley Wright homered and Maddie Loughead tripled as the Churchwomen doubled up the Irish.
Grace Jackson was brilliant in the losing effort, fanning 14 EA batters for the Irish. Caroline Adams had a double, a triple and batted in a pair of runs.
In the Ches-Mont League:
Oxford 1, Sun Valley 0 >> Madison Gutowiecz kept the Hornets guessing as she fired six innings of three-hit ball, but the Vanguards (4-3, 4-3) couldn’t offer any offensive support.
In a nonleague game:
Penncrest 4, Cardinal O’Hara 0 >> Megan Clancy brought home a pair of runs and Victoria Reed and Kailey Martin also drove in runs as Penncrest (6-0) blanked O’Hara.
Reed and Martin also scored runs for Penncrest.
