The Boyertown baseball team rode Mike Hohlfeld’s two-hit pitching and the hot bats of Noah Kurtz and Mitchell Peers to victory over Upper Merion in this non-divisional pairing of Pioneer Athletic Conference schools on Friday evening.
While Hohlfeld fanned seven and limited UM to its lone run in the first, Kurtz (2-for-3, double) had five RBI while Peers drove in four runs on 2-for-4 hitting that featured a home run. Jake DiCesare (2-for-2) and Michael Raineiri (2-for-4) had other multiple-hit days for the defending PIAA-AAAA champions, who brought the 10-run rule into effect with two outs in the fifth.

Christian Wagner finished 3-for-3 with a pair of RBI while Colt Narisco hit 1-for-2 with a double, two RBI and a run scored out of the lead-off spot. Ryan Schwab pitched six innings where he held Methacton to two runs (one earned) on five hits and eight strikeouts. Perry Corda finished 3-for-3 with three runs scored for Methacton.
