Pennridge’s Morgan Scott Montgomery All-Area Swimmer of Year

Next year, she’ll have two titles to defend.
Pennridge’s Morgan Scott not only won her second consecutive state gold in the 200-yard freestyle this past season, she also raced to her first state title in the 100 free.
Chosen as Swimmer of the Year, the junior keeps adding fast swim after fast swim to her legacy.
“The 100 and 200 have a place in my heart,” she said after a tremendous weekend at Bucknell University.
Scott defended her 200 free title in commanding fashion, cranking out a winning time of 1 minute, 46.77 seconds in a packed and rocking Kinney Natatorium.
On Day Two, Scott came back and sprinted to gold in the 100 free, touching in 49.43 to make it two golds in two memorable finals swims.

“I’m just so happy I finally won,” Scott would say of the 100 free, an event she placed second in as a freshman and second as a sophomore. “I had been waiting for this since my freshman year.
“I’m really happy that I finally got it and the people around me pushed me to get that time.”
Scott was at her best all postseason long.
The Ram junior freestyler also raced to the gold in the 200 free and earned a silver in the 100 free at the District One Championships.
In the 200 free, she broke her own meet record.
“I had a really hard practice (the day before),” Scott said after the race, “probably one of the hardest I’ve had ever, so I was really exausted coming in but really thankful for the time I got.”
Scott got her postseason push going with an impressive showing at the Suburban One League Continental Conference Championships, winning both the 200 free and 100 free.
She capped it all off with two unbeatable efforts at Bucknell.
“It’s really exciting for me,” she said of the season.
