The damp conditions did not bother Penn Wood’s Tyreem Welton. The senior won two individual events and was on two winning relays as the Patriots opened the Del Val League season with a 105-33 victory over Chichester.
Welton won the 100 and 200, led off the 4 x 100 relay and was on the winning 4 x 400 relay. Dennis Manyeah showed his versatility by winning the 300 hurdles, 400 and leading off the 4 x 400.
Daron Rice won the discus and was second in the shot put for Chi.
Tatyiana Laylor dominated the sprints to lead Penn Wood to a 102-37 Del Val League triumph over Chichester.
Laylor won the 100, 200 and 400 and led off the winning 4 x 400 relay. Janae Pitt (100 and 300 hurdles, long jump) and Kyra Carroll (4 x 800, 4 x 400, 3,200) were triple winners, while Fatou Seck took first in the long jump and triple jump for the Patriots.
Giovanna Cruet (high jump), Desiree Pannah (shot put) and Kam Bradley (discus) were the individual winners for Chichester.
