Methacton downs Pope John Paul II in overtime

Methacton 6, Pope John Paul II 5, 2OT >> Ryan O’Toole set up sophomore Jack Pellegrino for the game-winning score in the second overtime to allow the Warriors to escape the Golden Panthers in both teams’ PAC opener.

Methacton rallied from 5-2 down with five minutes remaining while getting 10-save goalkeeping from Harvey Smith. Pellegrino scored twice, as did Stanley Kolimago. Kyle Kacala (1G, 1A) and O’Toole (2A) also had mult-point games for Methacton (1-2).

PJP was led by Ryan Kormos and Justin Kent, who had two goals apiece.

Spring-Ford 15, Phoenixville 2 >> The Rams breezed past the Phantoms on their way to a PAC win.

RJ Ward led the way with four goals while Danny Cassidy and Kyle Reed chipped in two scores apiece for Spring-Ford, which led 10-0 by the half. Jarred Marenger scored a goal and posted two assist while Tate Pijanowski had a goal and a helper. Danny Jackson and Matt Napolitana each scored for Phoenixville.

Perkiomen Valley 16, Pottsgrove 0 >> The Vikings cruised to a one-sided win in their PAC opener against the Falcons. PV (3-0) was led by Brian Fehr (2G, 3A), David Neilsen (2G, 2A), Matt Dudley (3G) and Mario Scotese (2G, 1A).

The Vikings led 7-0 after the first quarter and 9-0 at the half. PV got single goals from Nick Steele, Connor Willey, Richie Marshall, Kyle Beaudoin, Matt Brock and Matt Wrzniewski.

Owen J. Roberts 7, Boyertown 6 OT >> The Wildcats escaped the Bears in overtime, denying Boyertown’s rally in both teams’ PAC opener.

Mason Turner scored three goals for Boyertown.
