Haley, Lutz help O’Hara down rival Carroll

Jason Haley and Kevin Lutz rolled to a 6-1, 6-1 win at second doubles to clinch Cardinal O’Hara’s 3-2 win over rival Archbishop Carroll.

The match of the day was Tommy Anderson and Jake Langley’s 5-7, 7-5, 7-5 win over the Lions’ Martin Meenan and Pat McCarry, which took almost 2½ hours to complete.

In the Central League:

Haverford 4, Upper Darby 3 >> Brandon Caban won convincingly at first singles, 6-0 and 6-1, and the tandem of Carrison Hooks and Andrew Borbi signed off on a 6-3, 6-4 win at fourth doubles to cement the Fords’ win.

Zoe Lor had an impressive come-from-behind win at No. 2 singles for the Royals (2-2, 0-2), winning 6-3 and 6-4 after dropping the first set, 6-3.

Garnet Valley 4, Harriton 3 >> Harriton swept the three singles matches, but a 6-4, 6-4 triumph from the duo of Anish Rana and Pranjal Chandra sealed a Jaguars sweep of the doubles matches.

Penncrest 7, Ridley 0 >> Howie Viguers, Zander Prokop and Daniel Esparragoza swept their singles matchups en route to a blowout win for the Lions.

Lower Merion 4, Strath Haven 3 >> Ian Terry and Justin Snyder worked extra time at No. 2 doubles, procuring a 6-2, 6-7 (7-2), 10-4, win but it wasn’t enough for the Panthers (2-2, 2-1) against the powerhouse Aces.

Conestoga 6, Radnor 1 >> Max Safanov won in straight sets at No. 1 singles for the Raiders.

In the Del Val:

Chichester 5, Penn Wood 0 >> Joe Hagel breezed his way to a 6-0, 6-0 win and Cliff Passewe won 6-1, 6-4, to set the tone for the Eagles’ rout.

In the Ches-Mont:

West Chester East 7, Sun Valley 0 >> Keith Crego and David German took a pair of games off their opponents at third doubles for the Vanguards.
