McNeely’s late goal pushes Strath Haven past Shanahan

Nicole McNeely scored with nine seconds left to lift Strath Haven to a 7-6 victory over Bishop Shanahan Friday in girls lacrosse.
McNeely, Margot Hotham and Maddie Ruffini tallied two goals each for the Panthers.

Sophie Haase had one goal and Katie Capalbo notched 11 saves. McNeely also had two assists.

In other nonleague girls lacrosse games:

West Chester East’s Julia Nagel looks for an opening against Haverford‘s Carly Gannon (20) and the Fords defense early on in the game at East on Friday. The Fords went on to win 16-7. (Digital First Media/Pete Bannan)

Penncrest 19, Sun Valley 2 >> The Lions cruised past the Vanguards thanks largely to Grace Harding, who scored five goals.

Julianna George and Allison Cavanagh (four assists) scored three goals apiece for the Lions, who held a 13-0 lead at intermission of the nonleague game. Goalie Corryn Gamber had six saves.

Kenna Kaut added two goals and two assists for Penncrest.

Cardinal O’Hara 19, Upper Darby 3 >> Erin Grady scored four goals, Anna DiRita and Julia Ferraiolo three each to spark the Lions.

Rachel Feldmayer led the Royals with two goals. Ali Cucinotta chipped in one goal, Ally Simonson two assists.

Garnet Valley 19, Downingtown East 9 >> Cam Faith and Kam McNeal scored three goals each to spark the Jaguars, who got two goals each from Riley Delaney, Beth Hofmann, Abby Kalish, Madi McKee, Kara Nealon, Regan Nealon and Madi O’Brien.

Interboro 22, Norristown 7 >> Gab Mendez scored seven goals and Madison Hengey had six to power the Bucs. Freshman Morgan Reed filed four goals and seven assists, Rachel DiDominecus had two.

In Catholic Academies action:

Villa Joseph Marie 18, Sacred Heart 8 >> Samantha DelViscio erupted for seven goals, Annie Whalen five to power VJM.
For Sacred Heart, Danielle Santora tallied four goals, Hannah Seifried three.
