Episcopal brings the Furey, advances to PAISSA semifinals

Senior forward Elodie Furey’s powerful presence inside enabled Episcopal Academy to outmuscle Notre Dame, 38-28, Friday in the quarterfinals of the Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association girls basketball tournament.

Furey grabbed 15 rebounds, blocked four shots and tied for game high-scoring honors with nine points. Luca Mamula added eight points, Reilly Wright netted seven and Olivia Dirks contributed four points and dealt three assists for EA (15-8), which advances to the semifinal round against the winner of Monday’s game between Germantown Academy and Hill School. Casey Walsh paced Notre Dame’s scoring with nine points.
