Kapp sets school record as Bears topple Whitehall; PV wins 10th in a row

Boyertown 78, Whitehall 76 >> The Bears’ Jerry Kapp went off for a school-record 47 points and sunk the game-winning 3-pointer with 7.5 seconds left to cap a 20-point second-half comeback.

Kapp broke the school record for most points in a game previously held by Brad Unger (Class of 2004). Of the four times in the past 50 years someone on Boyertown has scored more than 40 points in a game, the Bears had lost the last two and hadn’t won one of them since 1965.

Conrad Weiser 56, Daniel Boone 43 >> The Blazers saw their third-quarter lead go by the wayside down the stretch, the Scouts dominating the fourth to rally for a Berks Conference victory.

Trailing by a 38-35 count after three, Weiser took the final frame by a 21-5 margin. Ryan Okuniewski, with 14 points, headed a trio of double-figure Boone scorers that included Ian Rathgeb (11) and Chaunce Johnson (10).

Perkiomen Valley 54, Downingtown East 46 >> Justin Jaworski was hot from long distance, leading the Vikings to victory over East in their non-league game.

Jaworski got 18 of his game-high 26 points off 3-point baskets in helping PV reverse an early 15-10 deficit into a 25-22 halftime advantage. Sean Owens chipped in with another 14 for the Vikes, connecting twice from long distance.

Owen J. Roberts 52, Henderson 27 >> Bobby Walker reached a personal milestone while keying the Wildcats’ non-league victory over the Warriors.

Walker got the 100th 3-point basket of his scholastic career, hitting from long distance four times en route to finishing with a game-high 14 points. His offensive play helped Roberts bolt to a 20-5 first-quarter lead that went to 44-12 prior to the fourth quarter, Dawson Stuart kicking in another nine points.

Haverford 75, Spring-Ford 63 >> Bolstered by the double-figure scoring of four players, Haverford made a big early lead hold up for a non-league victory over the Rams.

Ryan Fitzpatrick netted 15 points to lead SF, with Nestor Diaz adding another 10.
