Wrestling: Methacton, Spring-Ford, Boyertown post big victories

The Methacton wrestling team posted six pins en route to a 71-3 Pioneer Athletic Conference win over the Golden Panthers on Wednesday night.

Corey Morabito opened up the match with a pin at 113, while Will Rebert (126), Dylan Henry (138) and Mike Blakemore (160) all followed suit with wins by fall. Brendan Marion and Connor Sullivan posted consecutive falls at 182 and 195, respectively. Brendan Rau posted PJP’s lone win — a 4-2 decision at 220.

Spring-Ford 66, Upper Merion 12 >> The Eagles forfeited away eight weights during a PAC loss to the Rams.

Jack Files posted Spring-Ford’s lone pin in the opening bout at 170 before Jake Pajovich posted a technical fall over Gabe Stribny at 132. Jonathan Westlake had a 10-2 major decision over Tim Cheng at 145 before Ben D’Arcangelo posted a 2-1 decision in the final bout at 152. Zachary DeSanto (126) and Matt Koresko (138) both posted pins for UM.

Boyertown 76, Phoenixville 0 >> The Bears claimed all 14 bouts en route to a PAC win over the visiting Phantoms.

Chase Stehman opened it up with a pin in 2:22 at 106 while Connor Neiwswender followed with another win by fall at 120. Boyertown rattled off four consecutive pins, spearheaded by Brett Breidor (138), followed by Christian Fox (145), Evan Mortimer (152) and bookended by Chris Berry at 160. Hunter Vogels followed with a 14-1 major decision at 170.

Perkiomen Valley 54, Pottsgrove 15 >> The Vikings scored 30 unanswered points at the outset, then cruised to victory over the Falcons in a non-divisional matchup of PAC schools.

PV got pins from Cody Jefferies (138), Kevin Lovett (152) and Hunter Ricci (160) to help build its early lead, then got another fall from Jahir Holmes (285). Pottsgrove, which forfeited three weights, got a pin from Ryan Finn (195) along with decisions by Skylar McLeod (220), Josh Cerrito (120) and Chase Banyai (126).
