Reporter-Area Girls Basketball Roundup: O’Brien scores career-high 31, PW rolls

Plymouth Whitemarsh 75, West Chester East 26 >> Taylor O’Brien scored a career-high 31 points in just three quarters as Plymouth Whitemarsh rolled to victory in the PW Holiday Tournament final Friday.

O’Brien earned tournament MVP while Lauren Fortescue — who added 15 points for the Colonials (7-0, 3-0 Suburban One League American) — was also selected to the all-tournament team.

Pennridge  42, Delone Catholic 33 >> Samantha Muredda finished with 11 points as Pennridge snapped a four-game skid with a win in the Boyertown Holiday Tournament consolation game.

Rose McCormick chipped in nine points for the Rams (4-5, 0-3 SOL Continental).

Methacton 43, Hammonton (N.J.) 25 >> Methacton led 25-9 at halftime and rolled to a  win over Hammonton (N.J.) in the George Betz Memorial Bracket consolation game at the Boardwalk Classic in Wildwood.

Nicole Cooper and Ryan DeOrio both scored 10 points for the Warriors (6-1, 3-0 PAC Liberty).

 

Lancaster Catholic 58, Pope John Paul II 43 >> Lancaster Catholic was up 18-4 after a quarter as it handed Pope John Paul II a loss Friday in the Crossover Classic at Hill School.

Monica Rapchinski scored 15 points for the Golden Panthers (3-6, 1-2 PAC Freedom). Lancaster Catholic’s Kiki Jefferson had a game-high 27 points.
