Radnor’s Gabby Kim is headed to the PIAA Class 3A championships and so is her younger sister June.
The elder Kim finished in a three-way tie for second, while her sister was in a two-way tie for sixth place in the PIAA Class 3A East Regional at Golden Oaks Golf Club.
After shooting a 3-over 39 on the front night, Gabby Kim parred the last six homes to come in with an even par 36 and finish three over for the day at 75, four strokes behind winner Samantha Yao of Conestoga. June Kim birdied the first hole and wound up 7-over par for the day at 79. However that as good enough to earn a trip to the state tournament next Monday at Heritage Hills Golf Course in York.
On the boys side, Radnor’s Jake Calamaro finished the back nine in 1-over par, but that was not good enough to make the cut for the state tournament. Calamaro carded a very respectable 6-over par 78 to finish in a six-way tie for 29th place.
