Sorrentino’s two goals count for Carroll

Bella Sorrentino scored twice, and Kelli-Ann Matey set up older sister Rachel Matey for the third tally as Archbishop Carroll outlasted Bonner & Prendergast, 3-1, in Catholic League action Thursday.

Claire Boylan made three saves for the Patriots (6-7, 6-5), who secured the sixth seed in the Catholic League playoffs and will travel to Archbishop Wood in next Thursday’s quarterfinals.

Catriona Corrigan scored off a feed from Kelsey Czibik for the Pandas. Bonner & Prendie earned the ninth seed in the Catholic League field and a play-in date at No. 8 Cardinal O’Hara Monday.

Also in the Catholic League:

Archbishop Ryan 4, Cardinal O’Hara 0 >> Kerry Patterson made 13 saves in a game that O’Hara kept to a workable 1-0 margin at half, but two goals by Gianna Monaco helped the Ragdolls blow the game open.

In the Central League:

Springfield 4, Harriton 3 >> Bridget Whitaker’s second goal of the game came off a Julie Shickling cross with 31 seconds to play in the first overtime period as the Cougars picked up a huge victory.

Erin Cutcliff and Olivia Little also scored as Springfield accrued a 3-1 lead early in the second half. Shannon Cutcliff stopped eight shots in goal.

Strath Haven 1, Garnet Valley 0 >> Morgan Crain scored with nine minutes to play as the Panthers (11-2-1, 9-0-1) remained on course for a Central League title.

Penncrest 3, Marple Newtown 0 >> Gia Martyn paired a goal with a helper, and Katie Sparling and Tara Higgins also scored for the Lions (10-1-3, 6-1-3). Bryn McLaughlin made four saves in Penncrest’s 10th shutout of the season.

Haverford 3, Ridley 0 >> Brianna Blair, Elizabeth Parkinson and Nora Janzer scored for the Fords despite the best effort of Olivia Rosado (nine saves).

Conestoga 6, Upper Darby 0 >> Despite seven saves from Alyssa Hanrahan, the Royals were done in by five goalscorers plus an own goal.

Radnor 3, Lower Merion 1 >> Maura Holst, Audrey Rosenblum and Carolyn Eckstein scored as the Raiders claimed a win.

In the Ches-Mont League:

Downingtown West 3, Sun Valley 0 >> Amy Parker made three saves for the Vanguards (8-7, 4-7), but two goals from Gina Peraino led one of the top teams in District 1.

In nonleague action:

Christian Academy 6, Masterman 0 >> Lindsay Haseltine scored four times, and Hannah Sareyka added a pair of goals, backed by six saves in goal for Madison Dutton for the Crusaders (9-2-1).
