DLN-AREA GIRLS VOLLEYBALL: Bishop Shanahan remains unbeaten

Bishop Shanahan 3, Octorara 0 – Shanahan (15-0, 11-0) remained unbeaten with its win Monday, posting scores of 25-11, 25-14, 25-18. Shanahan was led by Jenna Lasito (three aces, seven digs), Renee Shultz (13 assists, five aces, seven kills), Alexa Marcum (seven kills) and Ceandra Ashman (13 assists, five digs, two aces).

 

Downingtown East 3, West Chester East 1 – D-town East came back after losing the first game 11-25 to win the next three, 25-21, 25-21 and 25-17 Monday. East (13-5, 8-2) got good performances from Grace Allen (19 kills, 10 digs, one block), Jordan Houseworth (12 kills, three blocks), Mary Williams (42 assists, one ace) and Kirsten McQueen (four digs, three aces).
Avon Grove 3, Great Valley 1 – Avon Grove won by posting scores of 25-19, 18-25, 25-22 and 25-15. Avon Grove leaders included Emily McCann (22 assists), Chloee Kleespies (14 kills, 16 digs), Ayanna Turner (six kills, 11 digs) and Julia Crabtree (14 digs, 14 kills). Great Valley got strong performances from Danielle DiSciullo, Abby Daniels, Mackenzie Farrelly and Alana Cunningham.
Dowiningtown West 3, Oxford 0 – Downingtown West improved to 10-2 (8-2 in Ches-Mont) with a straight set victory over Oxford, 25-9, 25-15 and 25-18. West was led by Sophie Gelling with 13 kills and six blocks. Aly Reardon had eight kills, three aces and nine digs. Kenzie Pincura added seven kills, two aces, and 14 digs. Alex Kenny chipped in with 14 digs. Oxford’s leaders included Nikki Jones (17 digs), Sarah Robinson (four kills), Maddie Hamilton (nine assists), Nicole Scott (three aces) and Logan Wolfe (four blocks).

West Chester Rustin 3, West Chester Henderson 0 – Rustin (11-4, 8-3) swept Henderson by scores of 25-23, 25-18, 25-17. Leaders for Rustin were Emma Nelson (16 kills, three aces), Lauren Hayes (18 digs), Amanda Fichter (21 digs, three aces), Alessia Mattera (eight kills, eight digs, five aces) and Callie McGinnis (31 assists).
Unionville 3, Coatesville 0 – The Indians (7-9, 5-5) won by scores of 25-16, 25-13 and 25-14, and were led by strong play from Emma Daly and Jessica Homitz.
