DLN-AREA GIRLS TENNIS: Conestoga reaches District One team quarterfinals

The second-seeded Pioneers swept past North Penn Monday, 5-0, to reach the quarterfinals of the District 1 Class 3A team tennis tournament.
Cassidy Landau and Maddie Wood both won their singles matches for Conestoga (17-1). The Pioneers will host Radnor in the next round.
Singles – 1. Griffith (C) won by defeault over Velaga. 2. Landau (C) def. Alling, 6-1, 6-1; 3. Wood (C) def. E. Hurry, 6-1, 6-1.
Doubles – 1. Aravindhan-Dodge (C) def. Yan-E. Hurry, 6-2, 6-0. 2. Herman-Aboseada (C) def. William-Szuchan, 6-3, 6-0.
Kennett 7, Oxford 0 – Kennett swept all of its seven matches, winning each in two sets. At first singles, Emma Yue won, 6-0, 6-0.
Singles – 1. Emma Yue (K) def. Paige Troutman, 6-0, 6-0. 2. Gina Lusvardi (K) def. Abby Boohar 6-0, 6-1. 3. Imogen Thomas (K) def. Katilin Bell 6-0, 6-1.
Doubles – 1. Sofie Lusvardi-Maddie Fowler (K) def. Lilly Mack-Amanda Walton, 6-0, 6-1. 2. Shannon McDonald-Anna Colamarino (K) def. Brooke Yearsley-Hannahh Bartlett, 6-2, 6-0. 3. Julia Beldyk-Alexandra Hughson (K) def. Amanda Cooper-Rachel Shelley, 6-3, 6-2. 4. Julia Bradley-Mara Castleton (K) def. Katherine Anderson-Sarah Bartlett, 6-3, 6-4.
Downingtown East 4, Wissahickon 1 – Downingtown East defeated Wissahickon in the PIAA District One team tournament, winning all but the third singles match.
Singles – 1. Noelle Eghbali (DE) def. Jenny Landells, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3. 2. Sammy Roberts (DE) def. Julia Friedenberg, 7-6(3), 4-6, 7-6(5). 3. Rachel Flame (WIS) def. Maddie Minio, 6-3, 6-4
Doubles – 1. Olivia Davis-Isabel DeCecco (DE) def. Samantha Sullivan-Elizabeth Kooman, 6-4, 5-7, 6-3. 2. Swati Vipperla-Avery Byrnes (DE) def. Sasha Iakimenko-Lauren Kang, 7-6(5), 6-1.
Downingtown West 3, Methacton 2 – The Whippets swept three singles matches, and that was enough to advance past the Warriors. Payton Bradley, Jordon Bradley and Holly Koons all won in straight sets, while Methacton won both doubles matches. The Whippets travel to Harriton in the next round Thursday.

Unionville 5, Mt. St. Joseph’s 0 – Unionville swept Mt. Saint Joe’s in the first round of the PIAA District One tournament Monday. All the matches except first singles were two-set victories for Unionville.
Singles – 1. Sophie Wilks (U) def. Stow Weiss, 4-6, 6-4, 10-6 (match tie break). 2. Ricki Lane (U) def. Elizabeth Christine, 6-2, 6-1. 3. Eliza Wilks (U) def. Julieanne Dishler, 6-1, 6-0.
Doubles – 1. Bailey Santguida-Anna Nolan (U) def. Ali Nowak-Katie O’Sullivan, 7-5, 6-3. 2. Cara Freedman-Erin Felter (U) def. Caroline Savage-Annagh Devitt, 6-2, 6-1.
West Chester Henderson 5, Academy Park 0 – Henderson swept Academy Park in the first round of the PIAA District 1 team championship tournament Monday, winning all its matches 6-0, 6-0.
Singles – 1. Emma Clark (WCH) def. Breanna Reid, 6-0, 6-0. 2. Amanda Baxter (WCH) def. Vickie Outland, 6-0, 6-0. 3. Hannah Baxter (WCH) def. Rajah Azor, 6-0, 6-0.
Doubles – 1. Elaina Rochford-Mary Soria (WCH) def. Camile Erskine-Cheyenne Phillips, 6-0, 6-0. 2. Iswarya Vel-Jessica Liu (WCH) def. Aleah Carson-Destiny White, 6-0, 6-0.
New Hope-Solebury 3, Octorara 2 – In the first round of the PIAA District One AA team tournament Monday, Octorara lost 3-2. Kelly Lomboy at second singles played a strong match for Octorara. The second doubles was decided for Octorara in a 10 point tiebreaker, as New Hope had clinched the match at that point..
