Mercury-Area Girls Cross Country Roundup: Glodek, Perkiomen Valley run past Norristown


Perkiomen Valley 15, Norristown 50 >> The Vikings took the first 17 spots in the finishing order for a dominating PAC victory over the Eagles.

Annie Glodek led the way for PV with her 19:29 run. Jocelyn Rotay (19;45), Teagan Schein-Becker (19:46) Julia Dorley and Michelle Daniels (both 19:47) were part of the group that bumped Norristown leader Valeria Sanchez down to 18th place.

Pottsgrove 20, Phoenixville 39 >> Taking the next five places behind race-winner Natalee Serwatka, the Falcons sewed up the victory in their PAC meet with the Phantoms.

After Serwatka scored top honors in 20:41, Pottsgrove saw its top five finish in a 38-second span. Amia Slade led the way with a 22:30 run on her home course, followed by Megan Czerpak (22:32).


Upper Merion 15, Pottstown 50 >> The Vikings swept the first nine spots in the finishing order for a one-sided PAC victory over the Trojans.

Caitlin Bowe and Morgan Morton both clocked 22:19s in leading UM. Adrianna Hayward was Pottstown’s leader, 10th in 24:06.

Owen J. Roberts 15, Methacton 49 >> With their first six finishers crossing the line in a six-second span, the Wildcats handled the Warriors in their PAC meet.

Emily Hansell led the OJR pack with a 20:43 run, followed by Ally Brunton (20:45), Alex Glasier (20:46), Autumn Sands (20;49), Mikayla Niness (20:48) and Mary Bernotas (20:49). Anna Price was Methacton’s leader, seventh in 20:53.

Upper Perkiomen 26, Pope John Paul II 30 >> The Indians used a 1-2 finish to score a victory over the Golden Panthers in this PAC meet.

Caroline Frattone was PJP’s leading runner, third in 23:02. Serena Detweiler (20:55) and LeeAnn Markwalter (21:28) went 1-2 for UP.
