Joe Dougherty shot a team-leading 80 and was joined by a trio of his Bonner & Prendergast teammates in earning All-Catholic honors, as the Friars took third at the Catholic League golf championships at the par-70 Melrose Country Club.
Pat Lord (81), Corey McGrenera (83) and Dylan Williams (84) were Bonner’s other representatives on the all-league list.
Champion La Salle (472) along with runner-up St. Joseph’s Prep (482), third-place Bonner & Prendergast (507) and fourth-place Archbishop Wood (518) qualified for the District 12 championship tourney, scheduled for Oct. 11 at Meadowlands Country Club.
Archbishop Carroll (537) took fifth, led by All-Catholic Joe Kelly’s 82. Cardinal O’Hara (544) was sixth, with Kevin Lutz and Greg Manning each carding an 88.
In the Central League:
Radnor 188, Haverford High 210 >> Gabby Kim was even at par-35 St. Davids Golf Club, with Mike Syndes (36), Jake Calamaro (37) and David Colleran (39) close behind, helping the Raiders capture the league title with a perfect 11-0 campaign.
In the Del Val League:
Chichester’s Caprian Kan nailed down her fourth consecutive berth in the District 1 championships, scheduled for Monday at Gilbertsville Golf Club, by shooting a 79 in the league qualifier on The Golf Course at Glen Mills.
The senior followed up a 41 on the front nine with a 3-over 38 on the back nine.
