Short helps Chester continue winning ways

For a program that has only been around for a few years, Chester’s volleyball team has made great strides.
Whitney Short came up big at the net to lead the Clippers to a 3-1 Del Val League victory over Interboro.
Short pounded 11 kills and had one block as the Clippers won 25-14, 21-25, 25-13, 25-13) to improve their record to 6-4 overall and 5-3 in the league. Clayshonia Cogman added four blocks and Francheska Torres chipped in with four aces.
In nonleague action:
Methacton 3, Ridley 1 >> Melanie June collected 36 digs and four aces, but it wasn’t enough as the Green Raiders dropped a tough match to the Warriors, 25-22, 25-27, 25-18, 26-24.
Jackie Kelly led the attack with nine kills. She also had 17 digs. Jess Tait also had 17 digs to go along with 12 assists. Kiki Hannigan also had 12 assists, while Bridget Durante contributed 18 digs.
