Six Strath Haven runners finished among the top-10 as the Panthers swept Haverford (16-44) and Ridley (19-44). Isabel Cardi took the top prize with a time of 18:56, while Taylor Barkdoll (19:53), Abbi Loiselle (20:04), Maurissa Ogunde (20:18), Steph Watson (20:28) and Ava Crawford (20:31) also broke the 21-minute mark. Although the Green Raiders had the highest non-Haven finisher — Jamie Green in second at 19:09 — the Fords (7-2 overall and in the Central League) took that result, 21-40.
Meghan O’Reilly was Haverford’s best runner with a time of 20:19, good for sixth place. It was a personal record.
Elsewhere in the Central League:
Raiders fall just off the pace >> The Radnor trio of Abbey Idiculla (22:07), Caroline DiTrolio (22:10) and Julia Havertine (22:10) finished third, fourth and fifth respectively, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Lower Merion. The Aces filled out the rest of the top-10 and defeated the Raiders, 24-35, in the process. Radnor did clip Springfield, 15-50, though. The Cougars also fell to Lower Merion, 15-50.
Joseph takes first >> Dootleen Joseph continued her strong season with Upper Darby by finishing in first place with a time of 20:36. The Royals, with help from Joseph and Wilbortice Boduo (third, 21:35), defeated Marple Newtown, 17-46. Harriton dominated the dual meet, placing seven runners in the top-10. The Rams beat Upper Darby, 20-36, and Marple, 15-50.
In the Catholic Academies League:
Sacred Heart 19, Villa Maria 36 >> The Lions placed four runners in the top-five to defeat Villa Maria at Gwynedd Mercy Academy.
All-Delco Emma Seifried set the pace with a time of 19:59. Freshman Kayleigh Doyle finished third in 20:10. Hannah Seifried (fourth place, 20:12) and Chiara O’Keefe (fifth, 20:16) also were among the five best finishers.
