Singles strength helps Radnor top Lower Merion

Kanon Ciarrocchi and Jessica Lin lost just one game apiece at second and third singles, respectively, to power Radnor to a 6-1 Central League victory over Lower Merion.

The No.3 doubles tandem of Claire Burton and Sasha Smolyansky won 6-1, 6-3 to finish out a dominant performance by the Raiders. Grace Hederick started the victory with a 6-3, 6-1 winner at first singles.

Also in the Central League:

Conestoga 7, Upper Darby 0 >> Emily Gian gave Olivia Dodge a fight at third singles for the Royals before falling, 6-3, 6-2. The Pioneers won all seven matches in straight sets.

In the Catholic Academies League:

Nazareth Academy 3, Sacred Heart 2 >> Mya Lockings and Laney Santora lost 7-2 in the tiebreaker of the No. 1 doubles match, and Glenna Gobeil and Mary Dooner fell 7-5 in the third set after winning the second of the No. 3 doubles match for Sacred Heart (5-9, 3-6).

In the Catholic League:

Cardinal O’Hara 5, Archbishop Ryan 0 >> Nina Ji stayed undefeated at No. 3 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win as the Lions (10-3, 8-0) wrapped up a perfect season in the Catholic League. O’Hara will play for the league playoff title beginning next week.

In other singles action, Anne Marie and Cara Degnan were both triumphant for O’Hara.

In the Inter-Ac League:

Episcopal Academy 5, Springside Chestnut Hill 2 >> Bella Calastri was the lone singles match winner for the Churchwomen, who swept the doubles matches behind a 6-0, 6-0 victory from Lily Stavropolous and Neha Mukherjee at No. 3.

In the Ches-Mont League:

West Chester Henderson 7, Sun Valley 0 >> The tandem of Aislynn Catka and Kate Lannon won put up a fight at first doubles before falling, 6-4, 6-0.

In nonleague action:

Baldwin 5, Notre Dame 2 >> Grace Leasure and Natalie Hughes, and Sarah Crinnion and Mackenzie Irvine won the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches, respectively in three sets for the Irish (6-1).

Perkiomen Valley 3, Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy 2 >> The Cougars picked up two victories behind Jordyn Meltzer and Debbie Spivack in the No. 1 doubles match (7-5, 6-4) and Talia Schley and Zoe Klein (6-3, 4-6, 7-6) at No. 2 doubles.

Oxford 4, Academy Park 3 >> Breanna Reid, Vickie Outland and Rajah Azor swept the singles for the Knights.
