Mary Kate Neff made sure Notre Dame opened the Inter-Ac League season on a strong note.
Curran and Neff scored twice in the first half as the Irish built a five-goal lead and cruised to a 7-1 victory over Springside Chestnut Hill.
Neff also fed Lauren Curran for the first of her two goals. Quinn Maguire, Tina D’Anjolell and Mia Leonhardt chipped in with one goal and one assist apiece for ND (5-2 overall, 1-0 league).
Agnes Irwin 5, Penn Charter 0 >> Avery Niedland tallied twice and goalie Paige DiLullo only had to make one save in the Inter-Ac League opener for the Owls.
Jax van der Veen, Sydney Wolfington and Grace Wyatt also scored for AIS.
In the Central League:
Springfield 2, Radnor 1 >> Goalie Kay Walker came up huge, especially in the second half to help the Panthers hold off the Raiders.
Walker made 16 saves. Val Henderson had two assists, including one on Ashley Hassell’s winner with 18 minutes left in the first half. Sarah McAndrews had the other goal Strath Haven.
Page Lowry scored early in the second half for Radnor.
Penncrest 1, Upper Darby 0 >> Brielle McQuiston stopped five shots to make Ellie Sims’ goal in the first half stand up as the winner.
Veronica Hudson (eight saves) and Mallory Perry (four saves) split time in goal for Upper Darby.
Garnet Valley 4, Marple Newtown 1 >> Taylor Romaniello and Anna Dunn scored in the first half, and Kasey Burke and Deanna Huck found the back of the cage in the second half for the Jaguars (4-6, 2-4). Goalie Bridget Elison made eight saves to get the win.
Gia DeAngelis tallied the lone goal for the Tigers, while goalie Anna DeCecco made 12 saves.
Conestoga 3, Haverford 1 >> Laura Winters gave the Fords a 1-0 lead, but Charlotte de Vries tied it and then fed Kiley Allen for the winner with two minutes left in the second half.
Meredith Ross put home a pass from Stephanie Hamilton with one minute left in the game to seal the victory for the Pioneers (10-0, 5-0).
In the Del Val League:
Chichester 1, Interboro 1 >> All the goalies came up big as the Eagles and Bucs battled to a draw in double overtime.
Nicole O’Donnell made eight saves including two in overtime for the Eagles. Amelia Wellmon stopped four shots for Interboro including one in OT. Moriah Marr had one save in the first half for the Bucs.
Haley Fritz scored in the first half, off a feed from Adrianna Willouby on a corner, to give Chi a 1-0 lead. Ro Murphy converted a pass from Sam Mosloski later in the first half to tie the game for Interboro.
