Mercury-Area Girls Soccer Roundup: Renninger lifts Boyertown over Methacton

Boyertown 1, Methacton 0 >> Corinne Renninger’s successful penalty kick provided the Bears their margin of victory over the Warriors in PAC play.

Renninger converted the kick in the game’s 49th minute.

Spring-Ford 8, Norristown 0 >> Mack Mitchell and Kelly Franz each scored twice as the Rams made easy work of their PAC foe.

Alayna Gairo, Devin Rawley, Lily Nowakowski and Ella Curry all scored while Shannon Dougherty, Ally O’Connor, Rawley, Curry each added assists. Alex Hyduke recorded the shutout in net.

Pope John Paul II 5, Pottstown 1 >> Carson Tracy’s two-goal showing headed the Golden Panthers in their PAC victory over the Trojans.

Elizabeth Kropp, Emily Hughes and Monica Rapchinski rounded out the PJP scoring with solo tallies. Aniya Hoskins accounted for Pottstown’s goal.


Phoenixville 2, Upper Perkiomen 1 >> Dakota Graham’s goal in the 50th minute lifted the Phantoms to victory over the Indians in their PAC pairing.

Jessie Fisher scored in the second minute to give UP an early lead, but Gabrielle Perrotto pulled Phoenixville even in the 39th minute. The Phantoms got four-save goaltending from Yadira Cruz while Hannah Landis (four saves) and Rachel Morelli (two) shared time in the Indian cage.

Daniel Boone 0, Exeter 0 >> Though they combined for 20 shots on goal, the Blazers and Eagles were unable to score on each other in this Berks Conference matchup.

Makenzie Witzel provided nine-save goaltending for Boone, with Exeter’s Gillyan Dewbrew turning away 11 shots.

Baldwin 2, Hill School 0 >> The Blues lost a non-conference game against Baldwin.

Lexington Lemmon and Addie Paulson combined for duties in goal for The Hill.
