Gillespie shoots par to pace Garnet Valley

Jimmy Gillespie shot an even-par 35 and Mason Hudock carded a 4-over 39 as Garnet Valley edged Harriton, 209-214, Tuesday in a Central League match at Concord Country Club.

Gillespie birdied the first, fifth and sixth holes while Hudock also birdied the first for the Jaguars (6-7, 6-4). Harriton’s Nick Wert had a birdie on the fifth and Chloe Niu shot a 37 for the Rams.

Also in the Central League:

Ridley 213, Penncrest 222 >> Tom Loftus had birdies on the third, sixth and seventh holes on his way to shooting a 1-under par 34 to lead the Green Raiders (6-7, 3-7). Ridley’s Devon Tavani and Penncrest’s Drew Rogers both shot 43.

Strath Haven 200, Lower Merion 215, Upper Darby 273 >> Kevin Smith had two birdies while shooting a 1-over 36 and Chris DiRienzi capped off his senior season with a career-best 3-over 38 as the Panthers (9-3, 8-3) handled Lower Merion and Upper Darby in a tri-match. Alec Golland had three birdies for Lower Merion. Connor McCabe and Thomas Reif shot 51 and 52, respectively for Upper Darby.

In the Catholic League:

Archbishop Carroll 250, Conwell-Egan 307 >> James Kelly’s 3-over par 38 lifted the Patriots (7-6-1). Behind Kelly were four players who shot a 42 including Harry Lownes and Dan Crossan. The Eagles were led by Justin Porter (46) and Blake Fleming (50).

In nonleague action:

Great Valley 159, Glen Mills 259 >> Casey Stapp shot 45 and Kenyun Smith shot 49 as the Bulls had their lowest team score of the season.

Haverford High 210, Cardinal O’Hara 221 >> Zach Miller opened the match with four straight par 4s and finished with a 3-over 39 while Andrew Gavin shot 41 to lead the Fords (11-2-1). Greg Manning (41) and Nick Scarpone (43) paced the Lions.
