Cardinal O’Hara’s Ryan James, the reigning Daily Times Cross Country Runner of the Year, won the boys gold race at the PIAA Foundation Meet in Hershey.
James crossed the finish line in 15:58 and Gavin Ingilis was fifth (16:28) to lead the Lions to a second-place finish in the team competition. Patrick James (16:58) finished in 24th place for O’Hara.
Anthony Harper of Bonner & Prendergast took 12th in the boys blue race with a time of 17:04.
On the girls side, Eleanor and Elizabeth Mancini led the way as O’Hara took third in the gold race. Eleanor Mancini was 21st (19:44), while Elizabeth placed 23rd (19:54).
Emma Seifried of Sacred Heart finished fourth in the girls white race (20:00).
Isabel Cardi led the way as the Strath Haven girls won the 65th annual Spiked Shoe Invitational at Stevenson University in Maryland.
Cardi finished third in a field of 222 runners with a time of 19 minutes, 7.60 seconds. She was one of four Strath Haven runners to finish in the top 25. Maddie Forbes was 20th (20:05.90), followed by Taylor Barkdoll in 23rd place (20:13.00) and Abby Loiselle in 24th (20:14.10).
Peter Cooke of Radnor finished 20th in the boys championship race at the Carlisle Invitational.
Justin Kelly and Austin Segool of Sun Valley finished 11th and 14th, respectively, in the boys E race at the Six Flags Wild Safari Invitational.
On the girls side, Sydney Stribrny of Notre Dame was 11th in the C race to help the Irish to a fourth-place finish in the team competition. Natalie Novotni finished 14th in the E race.
