Butler sisters lead Notre Dame to win

The Butler sisters, Emma and Elise, led the way again as Notre Dame topped Germantown Academy, 3-0, in the Inter-Ac League.

Emma Butler handed out 26 assists, while Elise Butler had 16 digs and seven kills to help the Irish (7-2, 2-0) pull out the 25-19, 25-17, 25-20 victory. Allison Hendrick (10 kills) and Riley Shaak (seven kills, five blocks) came up big for ND, too.

In the Catholic Academies League:

Sacred Heart 3, Nazareth Academy 0 >> Rachel Bunado (12 aces), Hannah Martinson (25 assists, five digs, three kills) and Jaycee Webster (nine kills) power the Lions to a 25-13, 25-11, 25-12 victory.

In nonleague action:

Cardinal O’Hara 3, Sun Valley 1 >> Erin Daly (15 kills, 11 digs, three blocks), Kiki Daly (14 kills, 16 digs, two blocks) and Breana Hickey (13 kills, 12 digs, three aces, one block) all had double-doubles as the Lions won 24-26, 25-23, 25-14, 25-17.

Meghan MacWilliams set the offense in motion for the Lions (7-2) with 46 assists. She also had six digs.

Garnet Valley 3, Downingtown East 0 >> Lizzie Herestofa’s 27 digs and four aces powered the Jaguars past the Cougars, 25-20, 25-15, 25-18. Gabby Davis added 36 assists. Sydney Portale (13 kills, 14 digs) and Nicole Loan (10 kills) also came up big for GV (9-0, 6-0).

Penncrest 3, Kennett 0 >> Nikki Gargiule set the tone with 22 assists and seven aces as the Lions topped the Blue Demons, 25-12, 25-16, 25-12. Jordan Schuller (nine kills), Megan Arndt (five kills) and Carly Venit (five kills, five aces) paced the attack.

Henderson 3, Marple Newtown 0 >> Liz Conca had nine kills and eight digs as the Tigers fell, 25-12, 25-15, 25-21. Hannah Roberts pitched in with 14 assists, eight digs and three kills.
