Mercury-Area Boys Soccer Roundup: Styer sends Perk Valley over Upper Merion, 2-1

Perkiomen Valley 2, Upper Merion 1 >> Adam Styer scored the decider in the 78th minute off a redirected pass into the far corner from Max Chamorro to lead Perk Valley past Upper Merion in a PAC cross-divisional match.

Mike Weir got PV on the board in the 20th minute before Tim Biegalski and UM responded 16 minutes into the second half. Andrew Daubenspeck made three saves in the win.

Pope John Paul II 3, Norristown 1 >> Scoring all three of their goals in the second half, the Golden Panthers roared past the Eagles in a PAC cross-divisional match.

Nick DiPietro and David Lattanze each scored a goal with Andrew Snyder picking up a pair of assists. PJP’s first score came off an own goal to start the second half.

Methacton 3, Phoenixville 1 >> Trevor Rambo, Vince DeLisi and Mike Realbuto each scored as the Warriors topped the Phantoms in a league crossover.

Trevor Taylor, Aidan O’Leary and DeLisi each registered an assist for Methacton, which received five-save goalkeeping from Mason LeSage.

Colin Hook scored for the Phantoms. Mitchell Coll made seven saves in the loss.

Boyertown 8, Upper Perkiomen 1 >> The Bears battered the Tribe in an eight-goal first half as Garrett Halteman scored a goal and had two assists. Others with multi-point games were Sal Marciante and Connor Reiss. Also scoring for Boyertown were Jimmy Towers, Ben Wise and Derek Dierolf. For Upper Perk, Austin Selfinger scored and Jackson Lill made 17 saves.

Spring-Ford 14, Pottstown 0 >> Michael Hyduke netted a hat trick while four of his Ram teammates scored twice during a PAC rout of the Trojans.

Nathan Alban (two assists), Christian Djilo, Nick Murphy (assist) and Erick Rodriguez each finished with a pair of goals while Johnny Guimaraea and Nolan Schweitzer each had an assist. Kyle Allan and Hunter Hudak combined for two saves in goal for the shutout.
