Mercury-Area Field Hockey Roundup: Faust lifts Owen J. Roberts over Pottstown

Owen J. Roberts 2, Pottstown 0 >> Leanne Faust scored twice in the first half to lead the Wildcats past the Trojans in PAC play.

Faust opened up the scoring off a feed from Riley Hansen, then added her second unassisted as OJR registered 21 shots on goal. Naisha Elliot-Moore finished with 21 saves in the cage for Pottstown.

Upper Perkiomen 12, Norristown 0 >> Abrianna Gatto, Michaela Swenk and Kaylie Siwy each registered a pair of goals to lift the Tribe past the Eagles in PAC play.

Gatto also added an assist while Hope Flack, Liz Fox (two assists), Kathryn Lehman, Morgan Chowns, Autumn Gehmen and Kourtne Buck each added a goal. Liz Pierson stopped both shots she faced for the shutout while Norristown keeper Basimah Curry finished with 18 saves.

Boyertown 4, Phoenixville 0 >> Ashley Dierolf scored twice while Tiff Diachynsky had a goal and an assist and the Bears downed the Phantoms in PAC action.

Hannah Wentzel rounded out the scoring with a goal while Maddy Siejk finished with an assist. Kaitlyn Berger made three saves in the cage to preserve the shutout.

Spring-Ford 7, Upper Merion 0 >> Lexie Nugent scored five times to lead the Rams past the Vikings in PAC play.

Behind Nugent, Clare Kennedy had a pair of goals and two assists while Shannon Kennedy added two helpers. Lexi Ciano made two saves in the win.

Methacton 6, Pope John Paul II 1 >> Olivia Hoover’s hat trick proved to be more than enough in the Warriors’ PAC win over the Golden Panthers.

Julia Dickinson added a goal and a pair of assists while Addy Borkowski and Jackie Cerchio each scored once. Addie and Molly Frey combined for six saves in goal for the win.
