Mercury-Area Field Hockey Roundup: Davison takes Hill School past Pennington

Hill School 6, Pennington 3 >> Lexi Davidson scored the Blues’ first and final goals  en route to a hat trick and a non-conference win over Pennington.

Alexis Grippo posted two goals and an assist as the Blues held a 3-2 advantage by the end of the opening half. Sarah Esserman registered a goal while Taylor Duffany, Eileen Carmichael and Erin Kelly each posted an assist. Sophia Manganiello finished with nine saves in the win.

Unionville 7, Perkiomen Valley 1 >> Claire Donovan and Maddie McDonough each scored twice to lead the Indians over the Vikings in non-conference play.

Donovan also registered an assist while Morgan Lyons, Kayley Anderson and Annie McDonough each had a goal. Liz Tarbet scored PV’s lone goal off a feed from Nat Johnson on a corner try to end the first half. Miranda Wesley and Sabrina Roberto combined for nine saves in goal.

Boyertown 2, Lansdale Catholic 0 >> The Bears notched a goal in each half as a result of corner tries to take a close non-league matchup against the Crusaders.

Maddy Siejk and Riley Flint each lit up the scoreboard for Boyertown while Kaitlyn Berger was in goal for the shutout.

Upper Perkiomen 4, Radnor 1 >> The Tribe used Abriana Gatto’s four-goal effort to take a non-conference win over the Raiders.

Hope Flack added three assists as Upper Perk improved to an impressive 7-0 overall to start the season. Liz Pierson finished with seven saves in goal, the lone blemish coming off the stick of Radnor’s Page Lowry.
