Mercury-Area Girls Tennis: Spring-Ford sweeps Pottsgrove; Boyertown tops Upper Perk

Spring-Ford 7, Pottsgrove 0 >> The Rams dropped just two games throughout the lineup as they rolled the Falcons in their PAC match,

Tori Alexander (first) and Kathryn Alvarez (second) shut out their singles opponents, as did the doubles teams of Sonal Tyagi/Bianca Caresosa (second) and Maddy Morris/Lauren Ostermann (fourth).

Boyertown 5, Upper Perkiomen 2 >> A sweep of the singles bracket proved the difference for the Bears as they topped the Indians in their PAC match.

Boyertown’s best individual showing was Rachael Moyer’s 6-2, 6-0 win at first singles. UP got its points from the doubles teams of Emily Moll/Abby Clifford (first) and Allison Herbst/Cassidy Wright (second).

Upper Merion 5, Pottstown 0 >> A duel between understaffed PAC teams saw the Vikings sweep the Trojans.

The best individual showing for Pottstown came from Alivia Lopez, who won six games at second singles to force a first-set tiebreaker.

Methacton 7, Norristown 0 >> The Warriors dominated their PAC match with the understaffed Eagles, dropping just one game en route to posting the sweep.

Dina Nouaime, Tina Prince and the first doubles team of Katie Benson/Sydney Thompson all scored 6-0, 6-0 wins. Methacton won three doubles matches by Norristown’s default.

Perkiomen School 4, Woodlynde School 0 >> Being extended to tiebreakers in two matches didn’t prevent the Panthers from sweeping their Tri-County League match with Woodlynde.

Perkiomen’s best individual showing came at second singles, where Jill Kachmar posted a 6-0, 6-1 victory.
