Mercury-Area Field Hockey Roundup: Boyertown stuns Owen J. Roberts

Boyertown 3, Owen J. Roberts 0 >> Senior Tiff Diachynsky scored twice and posted an assist in the Bears’ PAC shutout of the Wildcats.

Boyertown took a one-goal lead into the half, then added two more scores in the second half. Keeper Kaitlyn Berger finished with nine saves to take her first shutout of the season while Ashley Dierolf had a goal while Maddy Siejk posted an assist.

Spring-Ford 3, Perkiomen Valley 0 >> Erin Wilson and Caroline Todd connected for a pair of goals to lead the Rams past the Vikings in PAC play.

Wilson scored of a feed from Todd 14 minutes in, then returned the favor 13 minutes later to take a two-goal lead. MaryPat McKenna scored with an assist from Clare Kennedy late in the second half to give Spring-Ford all the cushion it needed. Lexi Ciano (two saves) and Kristen Grabe (four saves) combined for the shutout.

Upper Perkiomen 16, Pottsgrove 0 >> Abrianna Gatto led the way with seven points as the Tribe route the Falcons in PAC play.

Gatto scored six times and added an assist while Hope Flack (two assists) and Liz Fox each finished with two goals. Kathryn Lehman, AiYi Young (two assists), Kaylie Siwy, Gabby Martin, Lindsey Collins and Lindsey Miller each registered solo tallies. Liz Pierson and Carly Eidle combined for the one-save shutout.

Methacton 12, Norristown 0 >> Emily Owens netted a hat trick while Julia Dickinson registered four points in the Warriors’ PAC rout of the Eagles.

Dickinson scored twice and notched a pair of assists while Jackie Cerchio, Olivia Hoover and Emily Mycek each had a goal and an assist to help Methacton to a 1-0 halftime lead. Katy Benton, Sydney Burgese, Emma Wierzel and Addy Borkowski each added solo goals.
