Mercury Area Boys Soccer Roundup: Spring-Ford needs OT to down Methacton; PV posts shutout of Bears

Spring-Ford 2, Methacton 1, OT >> Sal Ibarra broke open the tie in the 103rd minute with a shot from 20 yards out to send the Rams to an overtime PAC victory over the Warriors.

Ronnie Minges also notched a goal for SF while Kyle Allen finished with four saves in goal. Kevin Conrad scored off an assist from Eric Kihle for Methacton’s lone goal.

Owen J. Roberts 4, Norristown 0 >> Brandon Ott scored the game’s first two goals to lift the Wildcats past the Eagles in both team’s PAC season opener.

Ott scored 15 minutes in, then added his second nine minutes later. Andrew Siana scored off a feed from Sam Smith (two assists) while Taurean Lee scored the fourth and final goal. Tyler Stonebreaker notched four saves in the shutout. Norristown’s John Gonzalez registered 15 saves.

Perkiomen Valley 2, Boyertown 0 >> Andrew Daubenspeck finished with four saves in goal for his second shutout of the season as the Vikings downed the Bears in PAC play.

Kyle Bessette scored off an assist from Adam Styer on a corner in the 11th minute to open it up. Brian Love gave PV some breathing room late with a 25-yard blast. Connor McKeown made five saves in goal for Boyertown.

Upper Merion 5, Upper Perkiomen 0 >> Alan Castillo scored a hat trick to lead the Vikings to a PAC in over the Tribe.

Sam Tepe (assist) and Greg Johnston each followed with a goal while Trevor Looby and Dan Vallette each posted an assist. Dylan Castillo and Kyle Roberts combined for the shutout in goal.

Pottsgrove 13, Pottstown 0 >> Germann Larmond scored four times as the Falcons used an 11-goal second half advantage to down the Trojans in PAC play.

Brian Interiano had a hat trick while Nathan Yuchimiuk notched two goals and an assist. Michael Sereny scored once and added two helpers while Collin Deckert and Will Kaiser each had a pair of assists.
