Mayer finds the range as Ridley rolls past Upper Darby

Hailee Mayer had a day to remember, draining three 3-pointers and going a perfect 7-for-7 from the line on the way to 24 points to lead Ridley to a 65-20 win over Upper Darby in the consolation game of the Lady Warrior Classic hosted by Methacton.

Hanna Crowley added 11 points, as did Izzy Hamlin, while Dana D’Ambrosio scored eight points while adeptly directing the offense for Ridley (1-1).

Chelsea Vondran led Upper Darby (0-2) with five points.

In the Friends/Inter-Ac Challenge:

Episcopal Academy 55, Shipley 45 >> Lily Kuntz scored 11 of her 16 points in the first quarter, and Katie Weaver added 14 as EA broke open a tight game by holding Shipley to just four fourth-quarter points.

In the Upper Merion Tipoff:

Marple Newtown 51, Upper Perkiomen 16 >> Kristen Rutecki, Natalie Ayoub and Olivia Young scored nine points apiece as the Tigers shared the offensive load evenly to notch their first win of the season.

At the Pottsgrove Tipoff:

Wyomissing 57, Sun Valley 33 >> Kate Lannon tallied a game-high 17 points, but Wyomissing pulled away from Sun Valley (1-1) by a 31-14 margin in the second half.

At the Great Valley Tipoff:

Downingtown West 40, Interboro 27 >> Gina McNamee scored 10 points, and Amy Huddell added eight, but the Bucs (0-2) dropped the consolation game.

In nonleague action:

Penncrest 49, Academy Park 34 >> Corinne Mulhearn scored a team-high 11 points and keyed the Lions’ efforts on both end of the court, and Megan Arndt joined her in double-figures for Penncrest (2-0) with 10 points.

Trea-Sure Ketter was the bright spot for Academy Park with 20 points.

Bethlehem Catholic 47, Penn Wood 45 >> Dahnye Redd did all she could with 23 points and 14 rebounds to help the Patriots fight back from a halftime deficit, but they fell short in their opener.

Joy Morton added 11 points and seven rebounds for Penn Wood.
