Quigley, Notre Dame land PAISAA final berth

Notre Dame volleyball will get one more shot at Germantown Academy this season.

The Irish were assured of that via a 3-1 win over Agnes Irwin Tuesday in the semifinals of the Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association tournament.

Shannon Quigley collected 18 kills to lead Notre Dame, which appeared to be coasting to victory before some potent Owls resistance by game scores of 25-12, 25-22, 21-25 and 29-27.

Elise Butler came up with three aces and seven digs for Notre Dame.

In the other semifinal, Inter-Ac champion Germantown Academy banished George School, 3-0. The final will be Thursday at 5 p.m. at Baldwin.
