HAVERFORD >> Joe Hartley-Vittoria picked the perfect game to have a career day for Bonner-Prendergast.
The junior running back gave Cardinal O’Hara fits in a battle of one of Delco football’s storied rivalries. He amassed 206 yards on 24 carries with two touchdowns in the Friars’ 20-0 decision over the Lions.
Hartley-Vittoria was rewarded for his excellent performance when he was named the Independent Schools’ Most Valuable Player at the weekly Delaware County Coaches Association meeting at Barnaby’s of Havertown Monday night.
Chris Thomas exploded for a career-high 170 yards with three scores to lead Interboro to its eighth straight victory, a 41-7 rout of Chichester. For his efforts, Thomas was selected player of the week in the Del Val League.
Haverford quarterback Jack Donaghy garnered MVP honors in the Central League for the fifth time this season. The senior was almost perfect (16-of-17, 227 yards) in leading the first-place Fords to a 21-13 victory over Ridley.
