McWilliams comes up big as O’Hara blanks LC

 

Meghan McWilliams had a huge game to lead Cardinal O’Hara to a 3-0 Catholic League victory over Lansdale Catholic.

McWilliams set the tone on offense for the Lions (12-3, 8-1) with 26 assists and also came up big on defense with 13 digs. Kiki Daly led the attack with 11 kills. Gabby Napoleon added seven kills and five blocks.

Bonner-Prendergast 3, Hallahan 1 >> Mary Kate Moellar’s eight kills and seven aces helped the Pandas (6-7, 4-4) reach the .500 mark in the league.

Veronica Kirschner added four kills and four blocks. Caroline Manfre contribute four kills, while Carolin Goggin (19 digs) and Catherine Bellissimo (15 digs) paced the defense.

In the Ches-Mont League:

Great Valley 3, Sun Valley 1 >> Liz Scharrs had 11 kills and eight digs as the Vanguards (10-10, 5-5) dropped a tough match to the Patriots. Great Valley’s three wins were by a total of 12 points.

Ryan Vickers (seven kills, six aces), Emily Stokarski (14 digs, 12 assists, six kills) and Liz Bocella (21 digs) also had strong games for Sun Valley.

In the Catholic Academies League:

Gwynedd Mercy 3, Sacred Heart 1 >> Kerry Corcoran collected six blocks and two aces for the Lions. Lauren Kilroy had 24 digs and Ally Schell chipped in with 11 kills and 21 digs.

In the Del Val League:

Chester 3, Interboro 2 >> No other details reported.

In nonleague action:

Notre Dame 3, Conestoga 0 >> Madi Brennan and Katie McCullough led a strong defensive effort with seven blocks each. Allison Hendrick had 14 kills and Elise Butler had nine digs for the Irish (11-4, 3-1 Inter-Ac).
