Egan strikes for two goals to boost O’Hara

The Cardinal O’Hara field hockey team took control early en route to a 5-1 nonleague victory over Ridley Friday.

Bridget Egan led the offense with two goals while goalie Maureen Heneghan stopped nine shots for the Lions (6-2, 3-0).

Taylor Eubanks had the goal for Ridley.

In other nonleague action:

Agnes Irwin 6, Westtown 0: Lucy Maguire and Julianna Tornetta both recorded hat tricks for the Owls (5-1). Tornetta also had one assist while her sister, Sophia, added two helpers. Rosie Kalis (three saves) pitched the shutout.

In the Bicentennial League

Christopher Dock 5, Delco Christian 1: The Pioneers put the game away with three goals in the first half. Maggie Linton scored in the second half for the Knights (2-6, 2-4).

In the Central League:

Haverford 5, Penncrest 1: Sophy Maute tallied twice and the Fords scored three times in the second half to put the game away. Allison D’Ignazio had the goal for Penncrest.
