Robinson serves up a win for Academy Park

Daria Robinson was a backline sensation, delivering a dozen aces while serving for 44 points as host Academy Park pulverized Penn Wood, 25-9, 25-11, 25-4, in a Del Val League volleyball match Thursday.

Trea-Sure Ketter dominated at the net, posting eight kills and five blocks, while setter Alaysia Petty dished out 28 assists to go with seven kills for the Knights (4-3 overall, 4-0 league).

In the Catholic League:

Bonner-Prendergast 3, Little Flower 0: Jackie McCarrick swept the floor for 28 digs, Megan Cummings dispensed 23 assists, and Amber Ballinger (11 kills) and Veronica Kirchner (nine blocks) joined Sam Bohn (four kills, five blocks) in ruling the net for the Pandas (5-2, 4-1).

Cardinal O’Hara 3, Neumann-Goretti 0: Gabby Napoleon (14 kills), Meghan MacWilliams (26 assists) and Natalie Gray (11 digs) carried the Lions (8-2, 2-1) to a 25-8, 25-13, 25-9 rout.

In the Central League:

Penncrest 3, Ridley 2: The Lions (8-2, 6-2) filled the stat sheet with some eye-popping numbers from Emily Hopkins (19 kills, 34 digs), Bridgette Devlin (43 digs), Nikki Gargiule (17 assists, 29 digs), Diana Balta (14 kills) and Gianna Gargiule (25 assists) in outlasting the Green Raiders, 25-22, 18-25, 25-21, 20-25 and 15-8.

Ridley’s Melanie Malseed dove for 30 digs and Molly Murtha contributed 13 kills and three blocks.

In a nonleague match:

Notre Dame 3, Conestoga 1: Shannon Quigley was a force on offense and defense, totaling 13 kills and 15 digs, and teammate Megan Milligan contributed 20 digs and three aces in leading the Irish (5-1) to a 25-17, 25-17, 21-25, 25-16 road win over the defense-minded Pioneers.
